ida have taken its design inspiration in Bahrain’s hospitality, local culture and embracing its 5,000-year history that traces back to the Dilmun civilization. The different textures of the country’s past and present inspired ida’s impactful design concept ‘Rough Luxury’, a rejection of luxury’s meaning as perceived in the past.

Each space represents the exceptional characters of Bahrain. The stunning hand-painted pots ceiling in the lobby depicts the discovery of the Dilmun pottery heritage. The rustic luxury guestrooms are inspired by the rough wood of the dhows. Restaurant with the shiny Nacar of Gulf pearls. The rooftop spaces of the bar, pool and gym reflect Bahrain’s industrial dockyards and maritime culture which were used to give the space its ‘Rough Luxury’ term.
